Gwangju is one of the most representative cities in Republic of Korea and has a long-standing reputation as a city of justice, culture, and culinary delights. ​​

Gwangju is also a scared ground for Korea's democracy, where the May 18 Democratic Uprising took place, and it is now a city dedicated to human rights and peace.

Currently, Gwangju is putting efforts into becoming Korea's Silicon Valley. It is becoming a "future car leading city" by attracting the Future Car National Industrial Complex.

We plan to use the entire city as a test bed, including the development of eco-friendly automobile parts, test evaluation infrastructure, and the establishment of artificial intelligence (AI) - based autonomous driving demonstration equipment. Also, in order to foster the artificial intelligence industry, a comprehensive human resource training ladder is being prepared, which includes children, secondary schools, universities, and expert education.
